I'm hoping to get the first 1.6 out this weekend with chromecast support.  I had big plans for chromecast but so far all I have been able to get working is basic playback (no replaygain, crossfade, gapless, eq) which is all other players typically support anyway.   I still have some other things to try to get those other features to work over chromecast, so hopefully that works out.

One of the requests I've gotten was to make the split view available for galaxy note devices due to their larger screen sizes.  In the process of making that happen i tried out the split view on my Moto G and it actually seemed pretty usable, so in 1.5.1 any device with a density pixel width of 360 or higher will get access to the split view.  It will be off by default for non tablets and the menu quick toggle will not be available for non tablets.  Users will need to go into the preferences on these devices to change the modes. The album art ended up pretty small in landscape so I turned it off for this screen shot

It was 3 years ago today that I started working on GMMP with a challenge to myself to make a music player in a weekend: Challenge Result Its pretty crazy scrolling through the posts from the last 3 year and watching the player evolve. Anyway, I am still in maintenance mode with GMMP fixing bugs, but once I am happy with the current build I'll be switching focus to add Chromecast support
