Privacy Policy for GoneMAD Music Player

This Privacy Policy describes how GoneMAD Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile application, GoneMAD Music Player (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We do not directly collect any personally identifiable information (PII) from you when you use the App.

Information Collected by Third-Party Services (AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads):

Our App uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"). AdMob may collect certain information automatically to provide and improve its advertising services. This information may include:

  • Device Information: Your device type, operating system, unique device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), and mobile network information. 

  • Usage Information: Information about how you interact with the App, such as the ads you view, click on, or interact with. 

  • Location Information: AdMob may infer your general location based on your IP address to deliver localized ads. You can disable location services on your device if you do not wish for this information to be used. 

  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: AdMob may use cookies, pixels, and other similar technologies to collect information to personalize ads, measure ad performance, and improve the advertising experience.

In addition, AdMob may mediate with other advertising networks, including Meta Audience Network (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) and Unity Ads (provided by Unity Technologies ApS). These third-party advertising services may also collect information when serving ads through our App.

Information Collected by Meta Audience Network:

  • Device identifiers, device signal information, and information about the apps installed on your device.

  • Information about your interaction with ads.

Information Collected by Unity Ads:

  • Device information (e.g., device type, operating system, unique device identifiers).

  • IP address.

  • Information about ad views and clicks.

2. How Your Information is Used (by AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads)

The information collected by AdMob is used by Google to:

  • Deliver targeted and personalized advertisements to you. 

  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. 

  • Prevent fraudulent activity. 

  • Improve their advertising products and services. 

Information collected by Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads is used by those respective companies to:

  • Provide and improve their advertising services.

  • Deliver personalized ads.

  • Analyze ad performance.

  • Detect and prevent ad fraud.

3. Data Retention

We do not retain any of your personal information. Information collected by AdMob is retained by Google in accordance with their data retention policies.  Information collected by Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads is retained by Meta Platforms, Inc. and Unity Technologies ApS, respectively, in accordance with their data retention policies.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not share any of your personal information with third parties. Information collected by AdMob may be shared by Google with its partners and third-party advertisers in accordance with their privacy policy.  Information collected by Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads may be shared by those companies with their partners and third-party advertisers in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

5. Your Choices and Controls

Android Advertising ID: You can reset your Android Advertising ID at any time through your device settings. This may make future ads less relevant to you. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising by enabling the "Opt out of Ads Personalization" setting on your Android device. 

  • To reset your Advertising ID: Go to Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID. 

  • To opt out of interest-based ads: Go to Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (or similar phrasing depending on your Android version). 

Location Information: You can disable location services for the App or for your entire device through your device settings if you do not wish for your location to be used for advertising purposes. 

For specific choices and controls offered by Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads regarding their data collection and personalized advertising, please refer to their respective privacy policies linked above.

6. When Ads Are Disabled

If you choose to disable ads within the App, AdMob will not be initialized. As a result, no data will be collected by AdMob or any of its mediated advertising networks (including Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads) when ads are disabled.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at gonemadsoftware+privacypolicy@gmail.com so that we can delete such information. 

8. Security

While we do not directly collect or store your personal information, we rely on the robust security measures of Google, Meta Platforms, Inc., and Unity Technologies ApS to protect the data processed by AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads, respectively. Please refer to their individual Privacy Policies for information on their security practices. 

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

3.5 Released!

 GoneMAD Music Player 3.5 is finally here after about a year and a half of development.  Most of the new additions are not enabled by default but I did include a new UI preset named 'bottom' that will use the new now playing layout and the new bottom navigation mode.  Enjoy! GoneMAD Music Player 4.0 released and is now free!

GoneMAD Music Player 4.0 is now fully rolled out!  After 14 years since initial release as being a paid app, I've decided to try something different and switch to being free with ads.  The market is completely different nowadays compared to the early 2010s.  Ads are everywhere and users typically do not want to pay for apps / games / etc.  But don't worry, those users who previously purchased the unlocker or in app purchase unlock will continue to get an ad free experience.  New users will also have the option to purchase an in app purchase to permanently remove ads.   Note: There is a bug with 4.0 where users with the standalone unlocker may see ads when they first upgrade.  You typically fix this by just force stopping the app and restarting.  Ads should not come back after that.  Alternatively you can contact gonemadsoftware@gmail.com and I can help you out as well.  I have no intention on making users who already paid see ads.
