Large libraries may suffer from some performance issues like taking awhile to open views or change tracks. One way to boost performance is to remove unused tabs from the library view. For large libraries, the song tab should be mostly useless and removing this tab should give a big performance boost. To remove tabs to go the customize menu -> enabled tabs.
